My Story

Nighttime photo of a tall firework rocket with a colorful trail against a dark sky.

I’m Alan, a San Francisco–based photographer.

I’ve had a camera in my hands for as long as I can remember.

In the beginning, it was about capturing what was in front of me, friends, movement, moments that felt important without needing a reason.

Over time, that instinct turned into something more.

Light started to matter. Timing started to matter. The difference between just taking a photo and actually seeing something became clear.

Now I spend my time chasing light across San Francisco and beyond, looking for scenes that feel as real as those early memories.

The only difference is, now I know what I’m looking for.

Blurry photo with a gradient of blue, orange, and green colors, making it difficult to see specific details.
